Debbie Baylin is Cinim’s board of director
Debbie is a dedicated humanitarian with a life-long commitment to helping others. She began her professional career as a pre-school and elementary teacher where she encouraged young children to experience the world with wonder. She also co-created and taught innovative programming in self esteem to troubled youth. In addition to a liberal arts degree and K-12 teaching certificate, Debbie has completed multiple post-graduate leadership programs including the Rozsa Foundation Arts Management Program (RAMP) which is offered in partnership with the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business.
With more than 40 years in the voluntary sector, Debbie remains a passionate advocate for families living with critical illness. She has served as a peer support visitor, motivational speaker, group facilitator, lecture series coordinator and moderator for the Canadian Cancer Society, trained in both pastoral and palliative care, and sat on the Foothills Hospital Volunteer Association Board. With entrepreneurial skill and determination, Debbie founded the not-for-profit organization Art à la Carte in 1994, serving as Executive Director for 20 years. What began as a gesture of compassion evolved into a compelling complement to patient care.
Debbie has been honoured numerous times for her service to the Calgary community including Global TV’s “Woman of Vision” and a “Lifetime Achievement” award from Alberta Health Services.
